(Paris, France) Six-time Grammy award-winning recording artist, superstar Janet Jackson, who has sold over 100 million records world-wide, will perform under the iconic I.M.Pei glass Pyramid at the Louvre Museum in Paris on Tuesday, June 14, 2011.
Jackson, who received an Oscar-nomination for song writing, will be the first female pop artist in the world to perform in conjunction with the revered museum’s biannual fundraising event titled “Liaisons au Louvre.”

ABOUT “LIAISONS AU LOUVRE”
“Liaisons au Louvre”, is the generous initiative of the American philanthropist Mrs. Becca Cason Thrash, who created and serves as Chairman of the event, and is also Vice-Chairman of the “American and International Friends of the Louvre”.
“Liaisons au Louvre I” – The inaugural event, “Liaisons au Louvre I”, raised $ 2.7 million during its premier edition in June 2008 and was attended by Princess Caroline and Prince Ernst-August of Hanover, Simon and Yasmin Le Bon, and Bianca Jagger amongst many others. Duran Duran gave a private concert. It was the first time ever that the Louvre hosted a private fund raising event of this scale.
“Liaisons au Louvre II” – The second edition “Liaisons au Louvre II” will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 in Paris, within the Louvre Museum. Funds from Liaisons au Louvre II will help restore an extraordinary Louis XV drawing room, which will be featured in the Louvre’s 18th-century decorative arts galleries, reopening in 2013.
The evening will take place under the High Patronage of Mrs. Carla Bruni-Sarkozy. The International Committee includes some of the following notables: The Honorable Charles H. The evening’s attire is “black tie, full length and fabulous. “ After cocktails in the elaborately furnished 19th century apartments of Napoleon III, a magnificent seated dinner for 350 guests will be served in the Cour Marly amidst the Louvre’s masterpieces of European sculpture.
At dinner’s end, guests will adjourn to the iconic I.M. Pei Pyramid transformed into a sleek nightclub, where a brief live auction will take place. Following the auction there will be a concert, previously mentioned, by pop sensation, Janet Jackson.
An important Richard Prince painting is the showpiece of the live auction. Both Mr. Prince and gallery owner Larry Gagosian will be present. A small silent auction of fine timepieces will feature some of the most extraordinary brands in the world.
